By analogy to the ends of IS91 (Mendiola et al., 1992), the originally proposed limits of IS801 (Romantschuk et al., 1991) have been reconsidered: the first bp is now considered not belonging to the IS, whereas one additional bp from the "target" is now included in the IS (all the coordinates have been changed accordingly).
Based on this scenario, the first four bp of IS801 are identical to the first four bp downstream to the insertion site (in the three cases described).
