The proposed IS427 putative transposase is a fusion between (508-825) and (825-1271). There is no stop codon at the end of the element ! Also, the first 508 bp are not coding for any protein sharing similarity with those of the other IS5 family members. All these assumptions remain to be confirmed. Also, note that at position 821, the sequence 5'-CAAAAAGGGGGA-3' is a potential site for a -1 frameshifting between both ORFs.
