Comments
ISNg1 is embedded into a very complex IR-RS configuration, its biological significance remains to be determined. DNA sequence alignments with IS150 or ISYe suggest that ISNg1 might be a vestigial element, missing most of its left end (about 530 bp), and a few nucleotides at the right end.Three copies have been sequenced from N. gonorrhoeae MS11-A and all possess identical truncated ORF. Hamilton pers. com. The ORFA region have been inactivated by the 155 bp "N. repeat" inserting into the 5' region.
