ISEfa15 is 69% (transposase) aa similar to ISHahy12.
As a putative composite transposon found for the first time on plasmid pE35048-oc in Enterococcus faecium E35048, two ISEfa15 elements (one copy of which appear to be trucated at its 3'-end) in the same orientation flank the optrA resistance gene. This composite transposon may play a role in dissemination of the optrA resistance gene, as the presence of target site duplications (5'-CTAAT-3') flanking this transposon strongly suggests its transposition in a pRE25-like plasmid as F120805. Part of this transposon is able to exciss and form minicircles containing a truncated copy of ISEfa15 and the optrA gene.
