ISPsme1 is 94% aa similar to ISPpu17. ISPsme1 has been identified by its transposition to entrapment vector pMAT1 (sacB cassette). As judged from DNA hybridization analysis ISPsme1 is present in 2 copies in the genome of Pseudomonas mendocina strain LM7. Homologous sequences were also detected by DNA hybridization in Pseudomonas sp. LM11, Pseudomonas sp. LM12, Pseudomonas sp. LM25, Pseudomonas sp. ZM2.
