ISSen2 has been identified on plasmid pWES-1 from Salmonella enterica serovar Westhampton strain 05-686.
The proposed ISSen2 putative transposase is a fusion between (73-465) and (210-836). At position 396, the sequence 5'-AAAAGGGGGGA-3' is a potential site for a -1 frameshifting between both ORFs.
The putative transposase harbours the DDE consensus of the IS427 group.
ISSen2 is 63% aa similar to IS869.
