ISSav4 is 54% aa similar to ISRso17. ISSav4 was found by screening completely sequenced genomes for sequences homologous to the IS701 transposase using BLASTP. Multiple sequence alignments revealed a conserved DDE motif : D(N2)-99-D(N3)-162-E(C1). The copy number in the Streptomyces avermitilis MA-4680 chromosome is 3.
