ISSav3 is 57% aa similar to IS1452. ISSav3 was found by screening completely sequenced genomes for sequences homologous to the IS701 transposase using BLASTP. Multiple sequence alignments revealed a conserved DDE motif : D(N2)-99-D(N3)-124-E(C1). The copy number in the Streptomyces avermitilis MA-4680 chromosome is 1.
