ISNha1 is 54% aa similar to ISRso17. ISNha1 was found by screening completely sequenced genomes for sequences homologous to the IS701 transposase using BLASTP. Multiple sequence alignments revealed a conserved DDE motif : D(N2)-100-D(N3)-151-E(C1). The copy number in Nitrobacter hamburgensis X14 is 2. These two copies lie side by side on the chromosome and are separated only by the 4 bp direct repeat that is common to both copies.
