ISApu1 is 52% aa similar to ISPa12. ISApu1 was found by screening completely sequenced genomes for sequences homologous to the ISRm16 transposase using BLASTP. Multiple sequence alignments revealed a conserved DDE motif : D(N2)-68-D(N3)-114-E(C1). The copy number on plasmid pFBAOT6 from Aeromonas punctata HGB5 is 1.
