ISSd1 is nearly identical to IS600. ISSd1 ORF1 and ORF2 are 98.0 and 98.9 % identical to those of IS600. The stop codon for ORF2 is located 12 bp (4 aa) outside of the element. ISSd1 is located upstream of the sht cytotoxin operon, and is also probably inserted within itself.
