ISPst6 is 94% aa similar to ISPa21.
The IR of this IS are sub-terminal with 7nt separating the IRL from the left-hand and and 3nt separating the IRR from the right-hand end, a characteristic of members of the IS1111 group (Partridge and Hall, 2003). All known copies of ISPst6 have been found in the same orientation in a specific location within attC sites in Pseudomonas stutzeri, only one example of which is shown here. ISPst6 has been shown to exist in a circular form in which a promoter is formed at the junction, with a -10 region in the IRL and terminal sequences separated by 17bp from a -35 region located inside the right-hand end with one bp within IRR.
