IS222 is inserted within the first nine codon of the phage D3 repressor gene (c1). IS222 ORFA and ORFAB are 57 and 54 % identical to those of IS911, their closest relative. Note that ORF2 spans the entire IS222, from position 48 to 1223.
Modified the 04/11/2011 : the sequence was extended of two bp on each end with a TG (left) and CA (rigth). These data were obtain after comparison with the complete sequenced genomes.
