IS1373 is part of an amplified DNA sequence called ADS2 (Amplified DNA Sequences); in fact, it is flanking an Amplifiable Units of DNA, the AUD2 sequence. By analogy to other IS5 members, the ends of IS1373 have been set to start with GAGG, compatible with DR of 2 bp. This assumption remains to be confirmed. IS1373 putative transposase is 68 % identical to that of IS112.
