The ORF1 (complementary strand) is a PnbR-like regulatory protein, ORF2 a putative membrane/transport protein, ORF3 putative lipoprotein signal peptide-like protein, ORF4 a transposase.
The ISPpu12 transposase is 100% aa similar to IS1396 transposase and 97% aa similar to ISPst2 transposase.
An isoform of ISPpu12 has been identified in Pseudomonas sp. LM14 (KJ920394) by its transposition to entrapment vector pMAT1 (sacB cassette). As judged from DNA hybridization analysis, this isoform is present in 1 copy in the genome of Pseudomonas sp. LM14. Homologous sequences of transposase gene were also detected by DNA hybridization in Pseudomonas sp. LM5, Pseudomonas sp. LM6, Pseudomonas mendocina strain LM7, Pseudomonas sp. LM8, Pseudomonas sp. LM11, Pseudomonas sp. LM12, Pseudomonas sp. LM13, Pseudomonas sp. ZM1, Pseudomonas sp. ZM2, Acinetobacter sp. LM3, Halomonas sp. ZM3, Halomonas sp. ZM4.
