ISPpu9 occurs in at least 2 forms that encode transposase : a short autonomous element which extends from IRLeft-IRRight, and a 345-346 bp longer head-to-tail pseudo-dimer which extends from IRLeft-IRRight'. ORF coordinates are reported in the context of the longer form. The conserved target site is a species-specific repetitive extragenic palindromic (REP) sequence identified previously in Pseudomonas putida KT2440 (Aranda-Olmedo et.al. Nucleic Acids Res. 2002 Apr 15;30(8):1826-33.).
