Tn5432 (4,524 bp), consisting of two identical copies of IS1249 flanking the erythromycin resistance gene ermCX (Tauch et al., 1995), contains a 536-bp fragment (ISCx1) similar to IS31831. A sequencing error around position 345 has been corrected to fuse two ORF (127-345 and 344-536) that display strong similarities (60 % identity) to the transposase of IS31831.
