ISPso2 has been identified by its transposition into entrapment vector pMEC1 (cI-tetA cassette).
The third ORF is a putative ORFAB transposase reconstructed in silico by a possible -1 frameshift. At position 389, ISPso2 contains a sequence 5'-AAAAAG-3' that might function as a -1 translational frameshifting site.
ISPso2 is 96% aa similar to IS1248A.
As judged from DNA hybridization analysis ISPso2 is present in multiple copies in the genome of Paracoccus solventivorans DSM 11592.
