ISPpr2 is 53% aa similar to IS10A.
ISPpr2 was found by screening completely sequenced genomes for sequences homologous to the IS10R transposase using BLASTP. Multiple sequence alignments revealed a conserved DDE motif : D(N2)-63-D(N3)-131-E(C1). The copy number in Photobacterium profundum SS9 is 8 : 5 copies lying on chromosome 1 and 3 on chromosome 2.
