ISPosp1 was found by screening completely sequenced genomes for sequences homologous to the ISPpu8 transposase using BLASTP. Multiple alignments revealed a conserved DDE motif : D(N2)-78-D(N3)-104-E(C1).The copy number in the chromosome of Polaromonas sp. JS666 is 2.
