ISRba5 is 53% aa similar to ISBlma3. ISRba5 was found by screening completely sequenced genomes for sequences homologous to the ISAva1 transposase using BLASTP. Multiple sequence alignments revealed a conserved DDE motif : D(N2)-71-D(N3)-122-E(C1). The copy number on the Rhodopirellula baltica SH 1 chromosome is 4.
