ISPca1 is 79% aa similar to ISGsu1. ISPca1 was found by screening completely sequenced genomes for sequences homologous to the ISAva1 transposase using BLASTP. Multiple sequence alignments revealed a conserved DDE motif : D(N2)-65-D(N3)-96-E(C1). The copy number on the Pelobacter carbinolicus DSM 2380 chromosome is 1.
