ISFac10 is 44% aa similar to IS4Bsu1. ISFac10 was found by screening completely sequenced genomes for sequences homologous to the ISAva1 transposase using BLASTP. Multiple sequence alignments revealed a conserved DDE motif : D(N2)-72-D(N3)-86-E(C1). The sequencing of the Ferroplasma acidarmanus Fer1 chromosome is currently in progress.
