ISBce12 is 60% aa similar to IS231B. ISBce12 was found by screening completely sequenced genomes for sequences homologous to the ISRm16 transposase using BLASTP. Multiple sequence alignments revealed a conserved DDE motif : D(N2)-70-D(N3)-130-E(C1). The sequencing of the Bacillus cereus subsp. cytotoxis NVH 391-98 chromosome is currently in progress.
