ISPst5 was detected after transposition into a pUC-based plasmid which replicates (albeit poorly) in Pseudmonas stutzeri strain Q. ISPst5 was found inserted at exactly the same location (upstream of pUC origin of replication) in two independent experiments. We suspect that ISPst5 activates the origin of replication of the plasmid.
ISPst5 is 96% aa similar to IS1384.
ISPst5 is also found in Bordetella petrii DSM 12804 genome ( transposase is 99% aa similar) with accession number NC_010170.
